Upcoming Switch Games – September 2026 Part 2

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter

  • Price: $59.99 USD (Switch 1 digital & physical); $64.99 (Switch 2 digital & physical)
  • Developer: Falcom
  • Publisher: GungHo America
  • Release Date: September 17, 2026

Without spoiling much from 1st Chapter (which I highly recommend you play), 2nd Chapter focuses on Estelle’s journey to reclaim something extremely important to her. In the process, she’ll take on the society of Ouroboros with her allies and try to resolve “the greatest crisis in the history of Liberl.”

The demo opens the morning after the end of 1st Chapter, which was especially emotional. I played the demo, which generously allows you to experience the prologue and entire first chapter of the game. After 16 hours of reuniting with these beloved characters in the demo, I can’t wait to transfer my data to the whole thing in a few days! ✨

Artis Impact

  • Price: $18.99
  • Developer: Mas
  • Publisher: Feuxon
  • Release Date: September 17, 2026

With a story that’s more relevant than ever, Artis Impact is a Terranigma and Harvest Moon-inspired turn-based RPG that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humans and AI live side by side. While it’s important to train and upgrade your gear before battles, there are also opportunities to relax a little. You can participate in activities such as cooking, or use money from part-time jobs to upgrade and decorate your house! I like the sound of these features; apparently there’s even New Game+, which is one of my favorite things in an RPG.

Die in the Dungeon

  • Price: $14.99 (currently on sale for $11.99 until October 2nd)
  • Developer: ATICO
  • Publisher: HYPETRAIN DIGITAL
  • Release Date: September 17, 2026

A turn-based “dice-building” roguelite, Die in the Dungeon lets you play as 1 of 4 cute little froggy heroes with different play styles and starting dice sets. You can customize the dice in your deck with special properties, and it’s important to consider where you place each die because they can buff each other. There are different relics, dice, and potions to experiment with as you make your way to the end of the dungeon…or “die” trying. 😂 🎲

Jane Austen’s 8-bit Adventure

  • Price: $9.99
  • Developer: Bitwise Reprise
  • Publisher: Nami Tentou
  • Release Date: September 17, 2026

I always appreciate when developers come up with ideas for a game that I never would have thought of in a million years. Bitwise Reprise decided to prove that the pen quill is indeed mightier than the sword with a game about Jane Austen and her literary works. Transported into an 8-bit version of England, the author must defeat enemies from her books in this 2D platformer. Return the books to the 8-bit library to save the day!

Interestingly enough, players can purchase actual NES cartridges of the game to add to their gaming library (check the website for more information ⬇️).

The Posthumous Investigation

  • Price: $19.99
  • Developer: Mother Gaia Studio
  • Publisher: Critical Leap
  • Release Date: September 17, 2026

The Posthumous Investigation is another game with an incredibly cool inspiration; the cast in the story is based on characters from multiple works by Machado de Assis, who’s considered the greatest writer of Brazilian literature. In this point-and-click game you’ll play as a detective who investigates the murder of Brás Cubas (one of the aforementioned literary characters). There’s conspiracy and treason – and best of all, you can take advantage of time loops! I’m definitely intrigued. 😎

Well Dweller

  • Price: $19.99
  • Developer: Kyle Thompson
  • Publisher: Top Hat Studios
  • Release Date: September 22, 2026

From the developer behind Crypt Custodian, Sheepo, and Islets, Well Dweller is a dark fairy tale Metroidvania in which players must burn the wicked queen to save their little birdie character’s family. 😳 Explore the rotting remains of the kingdom, solve puzzles, and try to find helpful trinkets before battling some frightening bosses (see below) on your way to the queen.

Superstar Strategy

  • Price: $19.99
  • Developer/Publisher: Talberon Games
  • Release Date: September 24, 2026

I’ve been a fan of strategy RPGs since I played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance as a kid, so I was instantly interested in Superstar Strategy. I like that missions offer multiple conditions for you to win, and you only need to meet one of those objectives. Having units with “complementary skill-sets” sounds fun, and I was intrigued by the vampire healer unit. It seems like there are a bunch of class options to choose from, and you’ll need to be strategic about who you place where, as each faction only gets to move one unit at a time.

Kalanoro

  • Price: $19.99
  • Developer: Red Raketa Studio
  • Publisher: New Tales
  • Release Date: September 24, 2026

Wow. Another game with an unexpected and unique inspiration, Kalanoro tells a story based on Madagascar’s folklore. (Apparently Red Raketa Studio is based there!) In this action-adventure platformer you’ll travel through the biomes of “Lemuria” to gather musicians and form a band to perform at the evil ruler’s concert to overthrow her. Fight in boss battles and manage your band to increase its popularity and spread a message of freedom.

PUPU’s Adventure Park

  • Price: $14.99
  • Developer/Publisher: Happy Player
  • Release Date: September 24, 2026

At first I wondered if this was based on a series, but apparently the name of PUPU’s Adventure Park is translated from Chinese; originally it was 噗噗的冒險樂園. From what I can find, “噗噗” (pūpū) is an onomatopoeic word for the sound one makes when laughing.

The premise of the game sounds a bit dark at first, as the desperate “PuPu” clan signs a lease with the Dark Goblins to run a business and regain their life source. They build an Adventure Park to attract heroes, whose sweat (produced while completing missions from the park’s mission board) is used as a resource for the PuPu?

As you unlock new facilities, you’ll need more employees, so you’ll have to breed more PuPu. The little PuPu critters look so cute, and I saw something about stories in the form of comic strips? This looks a little complicated, but I’m interested in finding out more.

Boardwalk Builders

  • Price: $7.99
  • Developer: Studio Primitive
  • Publisher: Flynn’s Arcade
  • Release Date: September 24, 2026

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a boardwalk in real life, but now I’ll get to build and manage my own in Boardwalk Builders! I love management simulation games, so this looks right up my…alley? Boardwalk? 😂 Anyways, you get to build rides, restaurants, and stores; choose what you build carefully to attract more visitors.

Upgrade shops and earn more money and rewards. As you expand your boardwalk you can place more attractions. It seems like a pretty detailed management game, as you can market your boardwalk, hire entertainers, deal with weather conditions, interact with other businesses, and host themed events!

Heroes of Magic & Cards

  • Price: $12.99
  • Developer: First Day Games
  • Publisher: Forever Entertainment
  • Release Date: September 24, 2026

Heroes of Magic & Cards is a deck building poker roguelike in which you can choose your class, use more than 90 abilities, and enchant your cards. Enchanting your cards allows you to change their value, suit, or special effects. The better – and more powerful – your hand, the better the combo effects that you can inflict on your opponent. In between bouts you can participate in activities such as fishing to earn additional rewards.
