Love, Ghostie

- Price: $19.99 USD (currently on sale for $17.99 until October 8th)
- Developer/Publisher: Janbeh Games
- Release Date: October 1, 2025
I just finished reviewing Love, Ghostie, an adorable matchmaking game inspired by the support conversations in the Fire Emblem series. As the titular Ghostie, you’ll manage relationships from the afterlife by leaving gifts for the Manor’s residents on behalf of other characters.
Send them on dates and view each pairing option’s “relationship talks” to see who you think will work best together as a couple. With 66 possible relationship endings, the game offers a great deal of replayability, as players must play through the game at least 11 times to view all the game’s content (if they’d like).

Shujinkou

- Price: $29.99
- Deluxe Edition: $53.99
- Super Deluxe Edition: $69.99
- Developer/Publisher: Rice Games
- Release Date: October 2, 2025
Rated T for “Blood, Language, Partial Nudity, Suggestive Themes, Use of Drugs and Alcohol, Violence.”
As someone who really enjoys learning about languages, Shujinkou has been on my radar for quite some time now. It’s a dungeon crawler that gives you the option to learn some Japanese as you play! While it includes “new knowledge for language learners of any level,” if you need a break you can turn on the English-only mode.
Master hundreds of skills to use in turn-based combat as you explore the labyrinths, and forge dozens of weapons and armor to protect yourself. Help the people of Genya by completing the game’s many side quests, and have some fun with mini games and other activities such as fishing. This looks like a really neat game that has a lot of…character. 😉

Simon the Sorcerer Origins

- Release Date: October 28, 2025
30 years after Simon’s debut, he’s back in the official prequel to the point-and-click series. Enter a world full of “powerful yet mostly useless wizards and strange creatures.” Featuring Simon’s original voice actor, players both old and new can experience his trademark sarcasm in a script full of British humor. (Or should I say “humour”? 🧐)
Try out some spells and alchemy devices, and solve puzzles by combining the many items you’ll collect along the way. While the game pays tribute to the 90’s, it includes more modern mechanics to make it feel as fresh as your potions ingredients should be.

Detective Dotson

- Price: $14.99
- Developer: Masala Games
- Publisher: RAINYFROG
- Release Date: October 30, 2025
There are many parts of Indian culture that I find particularly beautiful, such as the Holi and Diwali festivals, the delightfully colorful saris, and Bollywood music and dance. So I’m excited to see that Detective Dotson will bring India front and center when it arrives on Switch this month.
As former actor-turned-detective Dotson, explore a modern Indian city as you investigate a case related to his father’s death. Acquire items and clues through trading and conversations, and play mini games such as Bollywood dancing to convince people to provide you with information or goods.
