Sneak around looking for clues, decipher codes, and solve puzzles to make progress in these cases. When you think you have enough information, you can interrogate your main suspect(s), paying close attention to notice any contradictions in their testimony.

Wander Stars

  • Price: $24.99
  • Developer: Paper Castle Games
  • Publisher: Fellow Traveller
  • Release Date: September 19, 2025

From the creators of Underhero, Wander Stars is a turn-based RPG with some really interesting ideas. Described as “an Anime you can play,” the game consists of 10 adventures in an episodic format. Fighting in procedurally generated battles, you’ll use words you’ve collected to fight your opponents. You can even combine words in custom attacks, with 200+ words to discover throughout the game.

I love turn-based RPGs, Anime, and language, so Wander Stars caught my attention right away. The description also states that you can replay each episode to experience side quests and randomized special events you may have missed the first time around; I do like the sound of that as well!

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter

  • Price: $59.99 (digital & physical; $1 for Switch 2 upgrade)
  • Developer: Nihon Falcom
  • Publisher: GungHo America
  • Release Date: September 19, 2025

I’m a huge fan of the Trails series, having played the original Trails in the Sky on PSP back in…2011?!? My love of the series has only grown since then, as I fell in love with the characters across the Liberl, Erebonia, Crossbell, and Calvard arcs.

For newcomers to the series, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter should be a great place to start. This remake offers drastically enhanced graphics, and they also added a real-time action mode to the battle system. Switch between action and turn-based battles to defeat Estelle and Joshua’s foes as they follow in their father’s footsteps to become top tier Bracers.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian

  • Price: $59.99 (digital; physical seems to be available at select online retailers)
    • Digital Deluxe Edition: $69.99
    • Ultimate Edition: $99.99
  • Developer: Gust
  • Publisher: KOEI TECMO AMERICA
  • Release Date: September 26, 2025

I just reviewed Atelier Yumia earlier this year, so I was pretty pleasantly surprised to hear that Gust and KOEI would be spoiling us Atelier fans with another game in 2025! Returning to their hometown years after a mysterious calamity caused most of the people there to vanish, main characters Rias and Slade discover what could be “the key to restoring the lost art of alchemy.”

Some familiar faces will make an appearance to teach the pair how to fight in “timeline command battles,” and how to synthesize items with alchemy. Gather ingredients in dungeons that change every time you enter, and use them to synthesize and sell items to contribute to the town’s rebuilding efforts. Apparently the town’s appearance changes as you get further along in the restoration process, and new characters may appear!

Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles
