While it admittedly has some issues on Switch, Disney Dreamlight Valley remains one of my favorite games on the console. I’ve put HUNDREDS of hours into the base game and its 2 existing DLC expansions.

I really appreciate how often they’ve updated the game with new content for free, with Inside Out characters Joy and Sadness arriving in the valley in the most recent update. Even players who have only purchased the base game for $39.99 get a pretty decent amount of new characters, quests, animal companions, clothing, and furniture. That’s not including the Star Paths and limited holiday events.

But the DLC expansions add even more content for players to enjoy; I’ve played through the entire story for both A Rift in Time and The Storybook Vale DLC, and I loved them! (I must confess that I am quite biased towards The Storybook Vale, as Maleficent is the villainess queen in my book, and Hades is her entertaining foil in the story.)

I was excited to see what they’d be announcing earlier today, and they didn’t disappoint me. They unveiled the next expansion for the game, entitled Wishblossom Ranch. Alongside Snow White and Tinker Bell, players will be able to “explore the alpine paradise of Wishblossom Mountains and rebuild Windblossom Ranch.”

We’ll do so riding around on horseback, with rideable mounts finally coming to the game. Befriend and care for not only your own customizable horse, but also horses such as Maximus from Tangled. (I’m praying for grownup Pegasus from Hercules, Khan from Mulan, the Nøkk from Frozen 2, and maybe even Hans’ horse Sitron. Like Anna, he deserves better than Hans. 😂 Also, he may not be a horse, but how about Kristoff’s bestie Sven?)

We don’t know everything about this expansion yet, but they intend to tell us more in their 2025 Showcase Stream on October 15th. What villains will make an appearance? We could assume the Evil Queen or Captain Hook, but that’s just pure speculation.

If you look at the antagonist-protagonist split in the existing expansions, both have 2 antagonists and 3 protagonists. [Edit 09/06/25: The Steam page indicates that there will be 4 new villagers and 3 horses in Wishblossom Ranch.]

The villains in the A Rift in Time DLC are not from the same movies as any of the protagonists. Conversely, in The Storybook Vale, Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent are from the same movie. I can’t say which way they’ll go with Wishblossom Ranch. But I can’t wait to see what they’ll do with the new expansion when it launches in November!
