This would be my reaction too 😂

I reviewed the first Duck Detective last year, and now Eugene McQuacklin is back in Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping. While the first game was set mostly indoors in an office, the sequel takes place in the great outdoors at a campsite. The Duck Detective is invited on a glamping trip, but he can’t go anywhere without finding a mystery to solve.

Gameplay is mostly the same as it was in the first game. You get to choose between Sleuth Mode or Story Mode; Story Mode highlights incorrect answers for you, while Sleuth Mode does not.

Investigate your surroundings, and Eugene will comment on the items you select. You’ll get to examine some items and people more closely to acquire clue words to use to fill in the blanks for your “Deducktions.” (I still love this pun so much!) Talk to potential witnesses and suspect(s), and use important information you’ve learned to further interrogate witnesses and gain additional insight into the situation.

They seem to have greyed out or removed the markers for items and people you’ve already examined, which is a much-appreciated improvement from the last game. I believe they also added a more helpful hint system in this one as well.

These aren’t overly difficult games, but they’re fun and silly. The mystery in The Ghost of Glamping is more high stakes than the one in The Secret Salami, and the ending very much suggests another entry in the series, which I would love.

Again, they did an amazing job with the character designs, and the game is fully voice acted. The soundtrack complements the mood well in each scene. There are a few scenes where the Duck Detective narrates what happened in the case; I love the images that accompany his narration!

Overall I think I did prefer the story and characters in The Secret Salami a bit more, but I still enjoyed my time with The Ghost of Glamping. Both games are on sale right now, and you can get about 6 hours of entertainment for under $20! I hope we’ll see the Duck Detective again next year, as this game’s ending really piqued my interest.
