MAGLAM LORD

From writer Kei Miyakozuki (Summon Night) and artist “lack” (Fate Grand Order), MAGLAM LORD is an action RPG where you play as the Demon Lord of Swords. As the last remaining Demon Lord/Lady, you will try to find love in a pool of marriage candidates in order to avoid extinction. In between dates, explore the world and keep yourself safe with the weapons you have crafted and customized.

Land of Screens

After a breakup, Holland also needs to break up with social media. In this point-and-click adventure game, get involved in real-life relationships and stay away from those screens! Go to a party, a concert, a family reunion, or even go into nature to just “unplug.”

Letters – a written adventure

This creative narrative platformer involves you interacting with letters or online chats from your friends. You’ll take either whole or partial parts of words from the letters and solve different riddles and puzzles. Change lovely drawings in the letters by applying those words to them. Enjoy branching storylines and the power of friendship in this game set in the nineties and 2000’s. You can check it out “write” (😉) away for yourself by downloading the demo from the eShop (linked below) before its release date on February 9th.

Rise of the Third Power

From the developers behind Ara Fell, Rise of the Third Power is a turn based RPG with a plot loosely based on the political events of 1930’s Europe. With eight party members, you’ll try to overthrow the Arkadyan Emperor while not knowing who you can trust without question. The eight party members attempt to provide some humor in a tense world on the brink of another Great War. Swap your characters mid-battle when needed, using the skills you’ve chosen to learn wisely. One unique aspect of the game is that you won’t have to buy different equipment, and instead will simply upgrade it using materials dropped by enemies or found in stores. You’ll need to be prepared for anything in this world full of subterfuge and betrayal.

Ocean’s Heart

In this top-down action RPG, you’ll play as a woman named Tilia, whose father has gone missing. Explore a world with a variety of different environments; find secrets, complete side quests, craft items, and battle frightening monsters! The game allows you to choose between many different weapons, spells, and abilities to use in combat – will you use the best strategies against your enemies? I love the vibrant colors in the screenshots I’ve seen; come and “sea” (😉) our thoughts on Ocean’s Heart after its release on February 10th!

EGGLIA Rebirth

• Price: $19.99

EGGLIA Rebirth came out in Japan in December, and we were so excited that we downloaded it right away! It comes out in the West in a little over a week, and you can check out our review here! The game is a cute, fun RPG/town builder simulation game. The world of Egglia was sealed away before it could be destroyed. You must unseal it one area at a time, meeting new friends from different fantasy races. Build houses for them and help them decorate them in between missions. You can upgrade and decorate your own house with materials you find as well. It’s a really cute game and I hope people buy it and enjoy it.
