Atlus announced today that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will be released on Nintendo Switch in April 2022! I do not own a PS4, but I’ve seen footage of the game before and have hoped to see it on Switch! I’m happy to see that finally happen!
The game involves mechs, kaiju (giant monsters, i.e. Godzilla), and time travel. Time travel is one of my favorite plot devices in a story, and I like mechs! I don’t mind kaiju either. You’ll control thirteen different characters (hence the name “13 Sentinels”) and have them pilot Sentinels (mechs) to battle kaiju in top-down, real-time strategic combat.
You’ll get to customize your Sentinels to prepare for combat. There’s apparently an interesting mechanic known as the “Thought Cloud,” which involves the collection of important keywords and information. I can’t wait to explore the different time periods and learn about each of the thirteen characters!
