Kickstarters To Watch – November 22, 2021

Heart Fragment

Heart Fragment is described as a “psychological otome” game. You play as the protagonist, “Xani Green” (whose name can be changed if you’d like), who awakens from a nightmare one night to a mysterious, “shadowy” figure there to tell her that she’s in danger.

Xani, probably 😂

You’ll discover that events of Xani’s childhood may not have been all that they seemed – and there’s a chance that she’s not entirely…human… As you attempt to discover the truth, you’ll meet a variety of interesting characters – with possible romantic and platonic relationship options. Enjoy more than 40 endings, with 6 main routes, and listen to partial voice acting to further immerse yourself in the story!

You can also get your hands on some acrylic charms!

Heart Fragment is technically “fully” funded at $13,000 CAD, but it needs to hit its stretch goal of $40,000 CAD in order for a Nintendo Switch port to happen! There are 5 days left in the campaign, with it ending on November 27, 2021. The approximate release seems to be in December 2022.

Isotope: Ash

Isotope: Ash is a love e-mail? letter to the Megaman Battle Network series, with at least one key difference: multiple endings depending on the choices you make! Ash’s appearance – and even his abilities – will also change depending on your actions.

He wants to be the very best! (Like no one ever was!)😉

Gameplay will consist of deck building, with real-time fighting. Equip different “shards” in your deck, and combine those shards to create stronger “compression combo” moves to cause more damage! And speaking of damage, Isotope: Ash is set in the future ruins of Earth, with a digital version of an undamaged Earth known as the Cyberworld. Thematically, the game seems to be a darker, more “mature” tribute to elements of Megaman Battle Network. I loved the Battle Network series as a kid, so I’m looking forward to seeing how Isotope: Ash turns out!

Isotope: Ash currently requires around $13,000 USD out of its nearly $16,000 goal. 12 days remain in the campaign, which ends on December 5, 2021. The developer indicated that the Switch version will be one of the Kickstarter milestones.

Dreamland: Village Life

In my humble opinion, you can never have enough farming games. And when they have adorable characters that give me some magical girl vibes, it’s even better! Customize your character’s appearance and choose from several different occupations (one of which is the cool-sounding “reaper”!). Raise livestock and grow crops including those mentioned in ancient Chinese classic texts as well as some more exotic plants.

I’m really excited about the ability to go diving. (I have some safety concerns regarding the apparent lack of scuba equipment for our character, though! 😉 😂) You can also go rowing with villagers to strengthen your friendships!

Dreamland: Village Life currently has obtained nearly $6,000 out of their $20,000 goal. 41 days remain in the campaign, ending January 2, 2022. The Kickstarter page lists Q4 2022 as the estimated release date.

Chef RPG

I adore cooking shows (although I still am not much of a chef, myself). So I was excited when I saw the Kickstarter description for Chef RPG say they were inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s Great Escape show, which shows how chefs gather their own ingredients out in the wild. (Other inspirations include Stardew Valley as well as Eastward (which I enjoyed, and reviewed here.) In Chef RPG, you’ll be able to choose between five different types of restaurants (restaurant, “social house,” pub, confectionary, and teahouse), and you’ll be able to choose when your restaurant is open as well.

🤤

There are more than 200 recipes for you to collect – just look at that scrumptious art! And speaking of art, you’ll be able to turn your restaurant into your own personal display of creativity! There will be hundreds of furniture pieces to choose from to make your restaurant unique, with a “style system” as an additional feature! What kind of restaurant will you cook up?

Chef RPG has reached about 150% of its funding goals, with 23 days left to go! The campaign ends on December 16, 2021. September 2023 is the target release date for the game, but the Switch version is planned for release a few months later.

I have this posted elsewhere on the site, but if you are clicking directly on the article you may not see that I have indicated that I have no affiliation with any games or their developers/publishers unless otherwise stated. (Other than being a fan, follower, and supporter.) I make zero money for saying or posting anything here. I figured I should reiterate this given my gushing over these games. 😂 Please do check them out and support them if you like what you see though!
